Ignacio Cota is a post-doctoral fellow from Sevilla (Andalusia). He works on the genetic control of the transition from the vegetative phase (when plants produce leaves) to the reproductive phase (when plants produce flowers and seeds) called flowering time.
-
In particular, he investigates if different plant species use the same strategy to regulate flowering or alternatively, if every plant species has developed its own mechanism.
-
When back to his hometown (Sevilla), Nacho takes care of his parents’ garden and grows ornamental species. Here in Barcelona, he enjoyes going to the beach or to the cinema… and he disconnects from work preparing homemade bread and biscuits in his place!
