Pol Vendrell

Inside the LAB

  • Pol Vendrell is a PhD student from Penedes (Catalonia). In the lab, he investigates how transposons, “jumping genes” able to move from one position to another one in the chromosomes, change the structure of plant DNA.

  • In this picture, he’s setting up an experiment to test the effect of transposons on the genome of the moss Physcomitrella patens using the CRISPR technology.

    Outside the LAB

    • In his free time, Pol does a lot of different activities, from swimming to acting as amateur in comedies.

    • He is also interested in other cultural activities of the catalan tradition including stick dance, the most ancient traditional dance (from the XII century).
