Andrea Martín

Inside the LAB

Andrea Martín investigates how small RNA molecules control the expression of genetic information in plants, which allows us to understand how genes are regulated throughout the plant, from the roots to the flowers.

In addition, the study of these molecules is of vital importance to understand the defence mechanisms of plants against pathogens such as viruses or bacteria.

Outside the LAB

In her day-to-day life, Andrea spends her free time practicing social dances such as Cuban salsa and bachata. She also enjoys quiet moments writing and reading poetry, or doing other physical activities like basketball.
