Jordi Petit explores the secrets of the genetics of a well-known plant: Cannabis sativa. This plant is useful in both medicine and the production of tissues, and many research centres are studying its properties. Jordi's work focuses on selecting and improving cannabis strains that other research groups use for their studies, looking at characteristics such as fibre quality and flowering time.
Outside the LAB
When the week's work is done, Jordi leaves the plants in the greenhouses and heads for the Pyrenees, taking advantage of the opportunity to do some mountain sports with his friends, skiing in the winter and climbing in the summer.
