Salvador Torres

Inside the LAB

  • Salvador Torres is a PhD student from Granada (Andalucia). In the lab, he studies the metabolism of chloroplasts, organelles of the plant cell where photosynthesis takes place.

  • In particular, his research focuses on the obtainment of new plant varieties enriched in carotenoids, photosynthetic pigments which serve as precursors of health-promoting nutrients including vitamin A.

    Outside the LAB

    • A part from “playing with science”, Salva loves any kind of sport and meets with friends and labmates to play football and basketball every week. He also likes travelling, with friends and his girlfriend.
