Victoria Barja is a “brand-new” PhD from Pamplona (Navarra). In the lab, she works on the production of secondary metabolites in plants.

During her PhD thesis, Victoria has unraveled the function of proteins involved in the biosynthesis of carotenoids in the model species Arabidopsis thaliana and in the crop species Solanum lycopersicum (tomato).

Outside the lab, Vicky loves catching up with friends for a drink or a party. She also enjoys organizing cultural activities with labmates in Barcelona and planning weekend trips in European cities.
